I’m always writing and trying to get my work done. Sometimes, the best way to get everything finished is to go to a coffee shop or café where the atmosphere is quiet and the coffee is delicious! I can get work done at home, no problem but sometimes there are distractions! I feel like I’m in-between work rather than on top of it. Yet, at coffee shops, I zip right through my work! It’s so great and easy. While in New York, I’ve found some of my favorite coffee shops and I want to share them with you. If you’re ever in the city, stop by because you might see yours truly.
Housing Works Bookstore and Café- If you’re in the city, you’ll find Housing Works Thrift Shops all around. Housing Works is an amazing organization that uses secondhand goods to raise funds in order to heal those affected by Aids/HIV. On top of that, the organization also aims to end homelessness. I always feel good handing my cash over to the barista, plus they make a mean cortadito that makes me feel like I’m back in Miami. One of their thrift stores is right next-door and I’d say that it’s worth a peak!
Hungarian Pastry Shop- The Hungarian Pastry Shop is in the Upper West Side, near Columbia and across the street of the Cathedral of Saint John The Divine, so if you’re doing some sight-seeing up there, pop in for a pastry, coffee and relaxed vibes. Some famous writers have penned their novels within the shop, so maybe that will inspire you to bust out your laptop and work on that novel you’ve been dreaming of, while chowing down on tasty treats!
Mountain Province- Mountain Province is maybe the best café in Brooklyn. It’s tucked away in a corner of Williamsburg but well worth it. The interior reminds me of my grandmother’s house, which is an interesting move for a place in super trendy Williamsburg. The staff is always nice and the owner’s favorite family recipes are on sale. If you’re looking for something more substantial, they also have delicious sandwiches to try!
